Meet the Owner: Jaklyn Andrews
Birth and Postpartum Doula, Childbirth Educator, Infant Feeding Specialist
My background is in health promotion and research and I’ve always been particularly interested in pregnancy and birth. Several years ago I came to doula work through my own deeply touching experience with my doula. I decided to combine my skills with my passions, and here I am.
Over time, Oakville Family Birth has grown and now I’m lucky enough to lead a team of wonderful birth and postpartum professionals who are equally dedicated to supporting new families. We’re truly honoured to play a role in your journey.
We believe that parents need more compassion and less judgement.
We believe that all births are beautiful and all parents are strong.
You don’t need your doula or anyone else to “empower” you;
you have all the strength, courage and wisdom you will ever need.
So, what can we offer you? We support you in every way. Think of us as expert best friends trained extensively to coach you throughout your pregnancy, birth, postpartum and parenting experience. We:

- Provide unbiased information and guidance *when you ask for it*
- Care for you physically and emotionally
- Make sure you never lose sight of your power.
We can’t predict exactly what will happen or how you’ll feel about it. What we can promise is that we’ll devote ourselves to being what you need. We might:
- Guide you to connect with your inner voice when you need to make a choice…
- Put on our game face, look you in the eye and push you to DIG DEEP and harness your strength when things get hard…
- Provide you with a break from the daily hustle, allowing you to rest while we care for your baby…
- Work with you to create a plan that feels right for you and your family.
